ReplyDeleteCredit for this book,whose basis came from the journalistic pursuit of Amit sengupta,is very much due to the readers,his knoweledge,scholarship,and keen expertise have been exemplery.To any yong writer who solicited my advice I'd say'As you learn to swim by flinging yorself into water,so learn to write by flinging yourself into journalism'.It is the only virile school Amit have,it is there that Amit measures oneself against other men,and there......that he forges one's style on the terrible anvill of daily deadlines.

ReplyDeleteThis is what we have been waiting for since long. Was there in JNU (1993-2006)and presently working with IGNOU as Regional Director in Kashmir. It amy take some time for the book to be available in the Valley, yet I would love to have it at the earliest. I would ask some JNU faculty to send me one.
